CCA Policy Council Working Groups


The Policy Council currently operates five Working Groups which have been setting policy priorities and direction for Cattle Council of Australia.

The outcomes from the Working Groups and Policy Council are detailed in the CCA Communique after quarterly meetings are held and can be found here

 The Strategic Policy Statements for each Working Group are published below. 

Integrity Systems Working Group

CCA promotes a national whole of industry integrity system that delivers consistency in policy across the whole supply chain and guarantees food safety and global consumer confidence in Australian Beef.

Market Access and Live Export Working Group

Cattle Council of Australia supports free and open markets and actively campaigns to ensure that the grass-fed beef industry benefits from, international trade agreements. 

Carbon Working Group

Cattle Council believes that the beef industry can be part of the solution to climate change by ensuring that all grass-fed beef producers can access the environmental, production, and economic benefits associated with reducing and avoiding greenhouse gas emissions from beef production and storing carbon in soil and vegetation on their land.

Australian Beef Sustainability Framework and Best Management Practice Working Group

Cattle Council of Australia supports investment in leading science to encourage and support Australian beef producers in best management practices for profitable businesses, highest standards of animal welfare, a skilled and capable workforce and environmental sustainability. CCA also supports the Australian Beef Sustainability Framework as a way to demonstrate the beef industry’s sustainability credentials to consumers and stakeholders. 


Cattle Council of Australia (CCA) reviews communication policies and procedures to inform development of a more effective framework to communicate with and advocate on behalf of grass-fed cattle producers.
